              Myanmar suggested the name "Michaung" for the cyclone that formed in the Bay of Bengal. The name is pronounced "Migjaum". 

            The name signifies strength and resilience. The cyclone is the sixth to develop in the Indian Ocean and the fourth in the Bay of Bengal in 2023.
 It is expected to have maximum wind speeds of 60–70 kmph, gusting to 80 kmph.
            The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the cyclone will make landfall in Tamil Nadu. 

            Countries name cyclones on a rotational basis, following certain guidelines. The current list of names includes contributions from: Bangladesh, Iran, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Yemen.

          The deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal strengthened into a low pressure area today afternoon. In the morning, the India Meteorological Department had announced that the depression would turn into a cyclonic storm on December 3 and make landfall on December 4 between Chennai in the north Tamil Nadu coastal area and Masulipatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

             In this case, there has been a delay in the formation of a storm in the Bay of Bengal, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. At present, the center has said that the depression will intensify into a deep depression tomorrow and become a storm over Southwest Bay of Bengal on December 3.
 

           The storm will approach southern Andhra Pradesh and adjoining northern Tamil Nadu coast in the early hours of December 4, it said. The path of Mikjam storm is confirmed.. If it goes on this path, ‘it’ is conformed.. Tamilnadu weatherman super information!


             The Indian Meteorological Department also said that the storm will move northwards parallel to the 5th South Andhra Pradesh coast and make landfall between Nellore and Masulipatnam on December 5 morning. The Indian Meteorological Department has also warned that wind speed of 80-90 kmph will increase to 100 kmph when the storm crosses the coast.
